SeaBeard McGee

This July saw the launch of the amazing Drawgasmic exhibition and book! Put together by the ever-cool team at Cranky Yellow.

“We’re bringing together the work of 1000 international artists, illustrators, and designers in an exhibition and book unlike anything ever created before!”

My contribution is “Seabeard McGee” (above), and you should see some of the others! There are so many good ones to choose from. All works are for sale. Have a look!

7.30 Report

Thursday, June 10th, 2010

If you were to ask, I’d tell you that one of my greatest fears is being on TV in the background of one of those tabloid news stories. You know the ones where all you see is a slow-motion close-up of a cellulitey bum walking away. Or worse, a zoomed in slow-mo shot of someone eating a hamburger, beetroot and sauce oozing out the side.

So I broke into a little sweat when a friend left a message on our answering machine the other night saying he’d seen me on TV. It was a news program, but a reputable one, and I was in the background, but thankfully not doing anything embarrassing.

The story, on the 7.30 Report, was about the success of Frankie Magazine, with lots of footage of the Finders Keepers Market. So my 3 seconds of fame was proudly riding on the coat-tails of Frankie Mag. And what a fine coat it is!

You can watch it here for the next few days on the 7:30 Report, from Tuesday 8th June (fast forward to just before the 25th minute).

Finders Keepers Interview

Thank-you to Finders Keepers (again) for featuring me on their website. Read the full interview here.

Article at Side Street Sydney

Tuesday, May 25th, 2010

During the hustle and bustle of the Finders Keepers Market, Alex English from Side Street Sydney sat and interviewed me.

The article is really well written and rather complimentary I must say. Thank-you Alex!
(Mind you, although I WISH I had a photographic memory, sadly this is not the case.)

If you’d like to read it, it’s over here at Side Street Sydney.

Artful Agenda 2010

Monday, June 29th, 2009

An Artful Agenda invited me to contribute to their charity project again this year. With the range of items even more broad than last year, this year you can get daily planners, lesson planners, August to August diaries, and appointment books. The cause this year is supporting arts education in public schools.

You can buy the art-filled diaries online here!

I was also invited to take part in the Feed Your Soul project, hosted by Indie Fixx. If you want some free art, to brighten your home or feed your soul, go check it out!

Curvy 2009

Wednesday, April 29th, 2009

The beginning of April saw the launch of Curvy 6, both book and Sydney exhibition. “CURVY 6 features the world’s most exciting female graphic artists, illustrators and designers in one highly collectible, limited edition book.” Once again I was thrilled to be included in the book, but this year I also got to include 3 works in the show too!

The Sydney exhibition is on until the 17th April at:
Mori Gallery, 168 Day Street Sydney (between China Town & Darling Harbour)

The Curvy 6 book is now on sale in good arty bookstores, and online here.

I’m off to Sydney for the rest of April to see the show, re-stock the AGNSW with my cards, and generally have a good time. My online store will be closed until I return and restock it again in early May. Please check back then for a new range of cards and limited edition prints.

An Artful Agenda

Saturday, November 29th, 2008

An Artful Agenda is a hip, unique daily planner with a hand-drawn image for each day of the year. Each week’s artwork is centered around a theme such as vintage toys, yoga poses or sock monkeys.”

The 2009 diary/daily planner featured art from 18 artists, and my artworks are all through it.
They sold out fast! But production for next year’s planner is already underway!

Style Magazine

Friday, October 17th, 2008

A big thank-you to Style Magazine, and writer Kate Hennessy, for running a story about my art in the September issue. The article spoke about the influence that the environment of my new town has had on my art. Especially the 20 new works sent to the “Affirmations” exhibition in N.H. America.
