Lot Number 2

Monday, January 24th, 2011

The first lot for the Art 4 Heart auction (raising money for the QLD Premier’s Flood Relief Appeal), wrapped up over the weekend. And I am astounded, and also very proud to pass on the news that together we raised $2,440!

So far…

Now it’s time for Lot Number 2. Even more artists (including Sarah McNeil, one of my all time favourites), even more lovely art, and another chance to nab yourself something wonderful for your walls this new year, all whilst helping those in need.

Go have a peepsee: Art 4 Heart.

Art 4 Heart

Tuesday, January 18th, 2011

In the wake of the terrible floods in Queensland, a bunch of artists have pulled together and donated artworks to help. We’ve created an art auction to raise some much needed funds for the QLD Premier’s Disaster Relief Appeal. Please go and have a look-see, there is some amazing work up for Auction and it’s for a really good cause. Starts TODAY!

All final bids are paid directly to the official Disaster Relief Appeal, and your receipt of donation is what we use as proof of purchase. So not only are you doing a great deed by donating to help so many people in desperate need, but you also get some amazing art to keep for yourself! Win win, hey?

My donation is a set of 2 prints featuring native birds from my region.

Bidding starts Tuesday 18th January 10:00am – and closes at 5pm on 22nd January. The second auction follows. All items have a starting bid price much lower than normal retail price too, just a little extra incentive.

Borrowed Suitcase Zine

I was invited to be part of one of Mel Stringer’s great zines. (Mel is well known for her zines, but probably more recognised for her illustration work in Frankie Magazine).

Borrowed Suitcase is collection of works by a stack of really great zine artists and illustrators from all over the world. It’s out now and can be bought online here for the measly spare-change sum of $4!

The Market

Thursday, May 13th, 2010

A huge thank-you to everyone who came along to the market on the weekend. I don’t normally get to see people see my work, so that, and being able to say hello and have a chat with everyone, was just the most happy-making thing. I had a really really great time!

I am currently working to restock my online shop, and updating my wholesale catalogue. Please feel free to send me an email if there’s anything particular you would like.

Finders Keepers

Tuesday, April 20th, 2010

The Finders Keepers Market is an amazing event which brings together emerging and contemporary independent artists and designers of original and high creative standards across 80 stalls. And I am thrilled that I’m going to be part of it!

I will be sharing one big art-tastic stall with fellow artists Emma of Benconservato and Penny of Pocket Carnival. Come say “hi” if you can make it. We will be next to the Frankie stall, opposite the bar.

The Finders Keepers:
Friday 7th May from 6pm – 10pm
Saturday 8th May from 10am – 6pm
CarriageWorks – 245 Wilson Street, Eveleigh*, Sydney, NSW, Australia
(*that’s Newtown / Macdonald Town)

Artful Agenda 2010

Monday, June 29th, 2009

An Artful Agenda invited me to contribute to their charity project again this year. With the range of items even more broad than last year, this year you can get daily planners, lesson planners, August to August diaries, and appointment books. The cause this year is supporting arts education in public schools.

You can buy the art-filled diaries online here!

I was also invited to take part in the Feed Your Soul project, hosted by Indie Fixx. If you want some free art, to brighten your home or feed your soul, go check it out!

PikaPackage

Sunday, August 31st, 2008

img_augpackage_by_flossy-pAugust will see the launch of a few new things I craftied up, including keyrings (featuring my illos) and enviro encourangement card sets (more about those in the coming months).

These, with a bunch of prints, and postcards are making their way to Malaysia to be part of some ‘artists lucky dip’ PikaPackages at Pikaland.

How long has it been since you’ve had a lucky dip prize? All good fun!

The items I mentioned were made exclusively for these packages. But once that’s finished I’ll be making some for everyone else :)

Valentine Hearts

Tuesday, February 26th, 2008

img_tigerhug

What happens when you mix a handful of charity, a couple of tigers, and a pinch of Valentines day?
You get February!

img_mirabelheratsFor the second year in a row the Lovely Hearts exhibition was on in America, raising funds for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. TigerHug was my contribution this year. Unfortunately the Winter snow was so heavy in New Hampshire that the opening night had to be called off, so sales were down compared to last year but hopefully as the weather brightens up there’ll be more visitors and some healthy funds raised.

Another fun charity event that centred around Valentines Day was the “I Heart Mirabel” show held at Meet Me At Mikes in Fitzroy, Melbourne. I made a small bunch of retro jungle hearts that was displayed in their front window among loads of others. Each donated heart will be for sale from the 8th March for $10, and all profits will go towards the Mirabel Foundation (children who have been orphaned or abandoned due to parental drug use).

I also finished a tiger in a tea cup for a commissioned illustration for two little boys who, I’m told, love animals. I hope they like tigers. (To view visit the Gallery section of this site).
