Website Facelift

Saturday, February 20th, 2010

It’s okay, you’re in the right place. Things just look different, that’s all.

As you can see I’ve completely redesigned this here little website o’ mine. What do you think? I am so relieved. Miles better imho.

Now you know one of the things that has kept me busy during this long absence.
So nice to see you again.

Cary’s Commission

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

Cary's commission, by flossy-pDuring September I worked on a commissioned portrait for a lady that I didn’t get to meet. Luckily I was sent some great photo’s that showed the close bond between herself and her daughter.

They have matching tattoo’s, and the strength of their relationship was very clear. I’m hoping that even though I didn’t get to know them, I still managed to capture their connection.

Mountain Stream Commissions

Molly and Yvette's Commissions, by flossy-p

I got to paddle in cool mountain streams, and bask beneath big trees in July… well on paper at least!

I delved deep into two commissions… each for couples celebrating their anniversaries, each couple enjoys the outdoors and has a love of nature, and kayaking down creeks, each are yet to have children, but are devoted and in love with their pets.

The difference was that one couple lives in Sydney, Australia, the other in Minnesota, USA.

Once again I wove lots of symbolism and metaphor into these works, and had a lovely time doing it too.

Artful Agenda 2010

Monday, June 29th, 2009

An Artful Agenda invited me to contribute to their charity project again this year. With the range of items even more broad than last year, this year you can get daily planners, lesson planners, August to August diaries, and appointment books. The cause this year is supporting arts education in public schools.

You can buy the art-filled diaries online here!

I was also invited to take part in the Feed Your Soul project, hosted by Indie Fixx. If you want some free art, to brighten your home or feed your soul, go check it out!

Incredible Print Show

Friday, May 29th, 2009

I was invited to take part in ‘The Incredible Print Show’ at artstream studios, NH, USA.
Showing throughout May and June, ‘The Incredible Print Show’ is nothing short of a massive lineup of artists, from all over, come together to present an exhibition of affordable art. An initiative to keep the art world ticking over during the dreaded G.F.C!

All forms of prints and printmaking were welcomed, resulting in a diverse and broad range of work on show.

I created two new works for the show; one-off monoprints with handpainted detail. I call them my Buttercup Bluejay’s.

The show is up until the end of June, and all works are for sale online here.

Curvy 2009

Wednesday, April 29th, 2009

The beginning of April saw the launch of Curvy 6, both book and Sydney exhibition. “CURVY 6 features the world’s most exciting female graphic artists, illustrators and designers in one highly collectible, limited edition book.” Once again I was thrilled to be included in the book, but this year I also got to include 3 works in the show too!

The Sydney exhibition is on until the 17th April at:
Mori Gallery, 168 Day Street Sydney (between China Town & Darling Harbour)

The Curvy 6 book is now on sale in good arty bookstores, and online here.

I’m off to Sydney for the rest of April to see the show, re-stock the AGNSW with my cards, and generally have a good time. My online store will be closed until I return and restock it again in early May. Please check back then for a new range of cards and limited edition prints.
